Happy Wednesday, friends! Can you believe it’s July? I’m still in shock that 2019 is halfway over. Today’s post is one of my top most requested posts and I’m glad to finally be sharing it with you. If you know me, you know that taking care of my skin is the one place that I completely lack. It’s taken me years to learn what’s needed in a good routine. I still don’t know everything but I’m learning. This year I’ll be turning 27 and I’ve realized that taking care of my skin is so important. So let’s jump right into it and share with you my current nighttime skin care routine.
Nighttime Skin Care Routine:
Step 1: Makeup Remover //
When it comes to removing the day’s makeup, I always reach for a makeup remover wipe. I’ve found that the wipes are so much easier to remove makeup than another liquid and cotton round. My go-to makeup remover wipe are the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes. I’ve tried a handful of wipes throughout the years and I’ve found that Simple not only does an amazing job at removing my makeup but it’s so much gentler on my skin than others.
Step 2: Face Wash //
Face wash is a product that doesn’t necessarily get used every night. Before you freak out that I don’t wash my face, let me explain why. I always keep a bottle of Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash in our shower. I’ve found that it’s easier for me to remember to always wash my face while shower, plus I use a purple shampoo that requires me to let it sit for a couple of minutes before rinsing so while I’m waiting, I wash my face. So depending on when I shower is when I use my face wash. I do love the Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash because it is so gentle on my skin. Not only is it gentle but it’s super affordable (under $5) and leaves my skin feeling super moisturized.
Step 3: Cleanser //
Now on to cleaning my face. Even if I wash my face in the shower at nighttime, I still do this step. I like to just think of it as double cleanser, which I hear is all the rage these days. Since it’s summertime and I’m all about that glow life, I’ve been using the Pixi Glow Tonic Cleanser. I’m a huge fan of Pixi, in case you didn’t know that already. This is cleanser is a great drugstore option that feels like high-end. I’ve used multiple lines of the cleanser and this is the one I’m currently using.
Step 4: Toner //
One item that never changes in my skin care routine is my toner. I always grab my Pixi Glow Tonic. THIS. STUFF. IS. AMAZING! All I do is add a small amount on a cotton round and sweep it across my face. My skin feels fantastic after using it. This toner leaves my skin with a gorgeous glow and it also helps make sure that I didn’t leave any makeup, dirt, or grime on my face. Hello clean skin!
Step 5: Serum or Essence //
Now let’s talk about treatment. The first couple steps are steps I’ve always done since I can remember. Treating my skin is new to me and what I realized I needed to be doing since my *cough* aging. I’m going to talk about Pixi again. Seriously you guys, I love their products and I know you will too. Both the Glow Tonic Serum and Rose Caviar Essence are great treatment options. Some nights I’ll do both, some nights I’ll do one or the either, and some nights I just might skip them depending on how tired I am. The Glow Tonic Serum is a great way to again, get my skin glowing. Can you tell the matte life just isn’t for me? Pixi’s Rose Caviar Essence is weightless serum that smells amazing. It was designed to “deliver fresh botanicals to nourish and hydrate, restoring skin’s brightness for immediate and long-term radiance.” Sign me up!
Step 6: Sleep Mask //
A few times a week, maybe 3 times, I’ll add an additional step to my routine by adding a leave on sleep mask. Aveeno makes a great sleep mask, Aveeno Positively Radiant No-Mess Sleep Mask. This is a super simple product to apply and forms almost a gel on my skin so that it doesn’t get everywhere. This is a great product to add to your routine if you are needing some more moisture and life back in your skin.
Step 7: Moisturizer //
Last but not least, it’s time to lock it all in. I use a moisturizer to lock in my skin care so I know it’s not going anywhere. I’ve been using the Olay Whip Total Effects, which has SPF 25, for about 9 months now. This stuff is fantastic!! I have combination skin that leans more on the dry side and this moisturizer does wonders to my skin. There are different lines in the Olay Whip product so definitely check them out and find one that works best for your skin.

So there you have it! My 7 step nighttime skin care routine. While it looks like a lot that’s super time-consuming, I promise it’s not. I don’t have time for a long routine. I’m so glad I decided to start taking care of my skin. Since starting a routine, I’ve received so many comments on how great my skin looks, with and without makeup.
