Happy Monday, friends! I’m back at work and drinking all the coffee, definitely feeling the time change this morning. Speaking of work, my work days changed to Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and I’m super excited. I thought I would change things up with today’s blog post and give you a little new series that will be bi-weekly, Alexis’ Adventures. This series will recap what our weekend looked like, what I’ve currently been up to, and some of my current favorites. Here’s what’s been going on.
Much to no surprise, our weekend was pretty laid back. I’ve been soaking in as many relaxing moments that we can get. Friday night Brad and I make blackened fish tacos with red cabbage and mango slaw. It was so good! The rest of Friday was spent playing with Henry and then vegging on the couch after he went to bed.
Saturday I got up early and grabbed some breakfast for Brad and I. Brad was a worker bee and spent the morning and afternoon working outside since it was the nicest day so far. We have so many things that need to be done outside to prepare for the new buyer. Thankfully, Brad got most of it done. Henry and I hung out inside while Brad did his thing. Once Henry went to bed, Brad and I watched some early 2000 comedy and enjoyed a few adult beverages together. Sunday was spent packing, running errands, doing laundry, and of course, spending time together as a family.
Writing: In my free time, I’ve been writing blog posts. Time has been so limited so I’ve been trying to bulk write as much as possible. I’d love to hear what you want to see this spring – fashion, home decor, motherhood, marriage, other topics – let me know below!
Reading: Over the weekend, I started Girl, Wash Your Face. I’m only at the beginning so I can’t give any update on if I love it or not. Stay tuned!
Accepting: Guest bloggers! I’ve decided to open up XO, Alexis for those who are interested in writing a guest blog post. This is a great way to reach a new audience. If you are interested, please complete this quick form.
Wishing: If warmer weather could get here, that’d be great. Oh, and can you not pour rain when it’s warm, too? Temps are slowly starting to rise, however, whenever the weather is nice, we have insane winds or it’s pouring down rain. I’m so ready for some sunshine.
Making: I was busy making sugar cookies all day yesterday. Brad and I decided this was a great way to say thank you to all of our amazing neighbors. We have had the best and sweetest neighbors and they are the reason why I’ve stayed in our house for so long. When we have bad weather, we have a neighbor plow us out. Another watches our house whenever we go out of town. It’s just the little things that make us feel safe and blessed. Fingers crossed our next house has amazing neighbors.
+ Magnolia Table. If you are in the mood for a new cookbook, you need this one! I’m not much of a person to tell anyone that they need something but this has been a wonderful cookbook. I’ve been making almost all of our meals from this cookbook and we haven’t made one that we don’t like.
That’s what’s been going on lately. I’d love to hear from you!
