Thank you Pinkblush for gifting me this adorable kimono that makes the perfect casual summer outfit. All opinions are my own.
Happy Monday! Can anyone else believe how fast summer is flying by? I’m low key okay with it because I am so ready for fall- crisp mornings, cozy sweaters, football, and of course, pumpkin everything. Since there are still quite a few weeks left of summer, I’ve got the perfect casual summer outfit for you. Kimonos are all the rage and I’m obsessed with how they transform an outfit. Today I’m sharing a casual summer outfit you’ll love and a peak inside our family zoo trip for Henry’s first birthday.
Creating a Casual Summer Outfit:
First things first, there are few elements that go into creating a casual summer outfit. These elements keep the outfit casual, cool, and still stylish.
The first item that you’ll need are bottoms. There are so many options to create your own casual summer outfit. I decided on a pair of lightly distressed denim jean shorts. These shorts are super comfortable and are a longer length without being too long.
Next step, find yourself a cute tank. A tank is important because it’s summer time and hot. Just like with bottoms, there are many options. Since I’m not into anything tighter fit this summer, selecting a tank that was loose in the places I needed it to be was important. While this tank is loose, it still has super cute pom details to elevate the shirt from a basic tank top. Plus, the two tone color detail is fun!
Another element that goes into a casual summer outfit is comfortable shoes. Again, this element can change on your preference and what you are dressing for. Since we were going to the zoo and a lot of walking was going to be involved, I decided on sneakers. If you’ve been around for a while, you know that I love these sneakers because they go with any outfit and are comfortable.
Now that you’ve got the basic elements established, it’s time to select your kimono. Pinkblush has an amazing selection of kimonos but this burnt orange kimono spoke to me, especially the lace back detail. Since I’m someone who typically turns to monochromatic looks, the burnt orange was just what my closet needed to elevate all of my black, white, and gray pieces.
Lastly, it’s time to select your accessories. I went with the simple route. All black sunnies were the number one option since we were going to be outside all day. Next was adding a black crossbody to my outfit. A crossbody is the perfect option when you are going to be walking around all day and staying hands free while needing to keep an eye on your purse.
I’ve been a huge fan of Pinkblush for a couple of years now. When I’ve purchased pieces from their boutique, I’ve always found that each item is of high quality while being budget-friendly. If you are looking for items that are dressier, Pinkblush does carry dresses that are under $100 which makes them perfect for weddings, showers, and pictures. Not only does Pinkblush have high-quality items but they have women’s clothing for every woman- maternity, women’s plus, and plus size maternity. I loved their maternity pieces while I was expecting. I actually wore one of their dresses for my baby shower and maternity photos!

I hope you enjoyed this casual summer outfit and a peek inside our zoo trip. As a mom who hasn’t lost all her baby weight, finding an outfit for the summer that makes me feel good and not super self-conscious is a challenge. This is why I love kimonos! Kimonos are the perfect layering piece that helps hide the extra weight I’ve gained in my arms and stomach but kimonos still allow me to look stylish, not frumpy.
