Happy Wednesday! It might be in the high 80s but I’ve already checked into fall. If you are new here, I’ve been doing the whole fall thing before fall was cool. As an October baby, I’m someone who has been obsessed with pumpkin since birth. Every year I celebrate my birthday by blowing out birthday candles on a pumpkin pie. Football, moody colors, and over-sized sweaters are my love language. Since we are approaching the end of summer, I’m here to inspire you to start switching up your closet to get ready for fall. I’m bringing you two summer to fall transition outfits and 15 pieces to get you ready for fall.
Two Summer to Fall Transition Outfits:
When it comes to selecting your summer to fall transition outfit, think about colors. PinkBlush sent me this adorable yellow floral kimono and I knew right away I would be transitioning this kimono into fall. What’s great about this kimono is that I can easily pair it with denim or white shorts or a white, navy or pink dress. Yellow is a great color to wear for a transitional piece since yellow is such a popular color in both summer and fall. While the shade of yellow might change from bright sunny yellow to more of a muted and mustard shade, yellow goes with so many outfits.
For the second outfit, PinkBlush sent me the perfect striped midi dress to go from summer to fall. This dress is easy to style for summer, simply wear with sandals. To bring this dress from summer to fall, add some layers. Since the weather is still warm, adding a utility vest gave the dress some fall vibes. Another option is to layer with a denim jacket for cooler days. As far as shoes go, toss aside sandals and choose a pair of open-toed booties. Again, just by making small adjustments to how you would typically style the dress will allow you to transition it into cooler fall days.
Another tips for transitioning your wardrobe is to change up the lengths. From example, shorts can go into jeans; dresses can go from shorter to a midi/maxi length; shoes can go from open-toed to closed toe or even booties to tall/OTK boots. The same goes with shirts. If you want to keep wearing your favorite tank or tee, layer with a kimono or super light-weight cardigan. You can also wear 3/4 to full length sleeves but still wear shorts or a denim skirt. By changing up the lengths of your pieces, you can still stay cool while getting into the fall mindset.
